Come and Fly a Bristol M1C
Come and fly a Bristol M1C, a full size WWI fighter aircraft simulator, that you control fully.
It was built by the Warbirds husband and wife team who have a love of fighter aircraft and had dreamed of building a full size WW1 aircraft flight simulator. The idea they came up with was a full size replica plane, a Bristol M1C, with an open cockpit and a fully operational joystick, that allows the movement of the aircraft to be totally controlled by you!
It has been built from scratch, using a 3rd scale radio controlled aircraft plan that was scaled up. The fuselage is made of steel instead of wood, but still using the original aircraft design. It's been covered and treated with cloth and cellulose dope as planes of that era were and has been painted by hand. The build started in August 2014 and they have devoted all their spare time to it which is currently 1300 hours!
They chose the Bristol as it is an unusual aircraft of WW1 and was the only British built monoplane of WW1. There is only one original remaining in the world.
