The Victory Marquee
Daytimes in the Victory Marquee will feature non-stop entertainment from noon to 6pm. Dance, music, song, comedy, magic and a whole lot more will be the order of the day.
In addition to our regular programme shown below there will be some surprise appearances by special guests, including well-known cast members from the popular television series 'Allo 'Allo!
Our host Viv the Spiv, the man who knows “what's what”, is going to tell us “who's who” as he introduces some of the stars of this year's entertainment line-up including The Swingtime Sweethearts, Adam Hoffman, Luna Nightingale, Sincerely Yours, Scott Elvis, the Peekaboos, Rosy Apples and others.
The Jive Aces have hundreds of thousands of fans world-wide following their high energy, exciting stage performances and numerous popular recordings. With well over 300 performances each year, they easily lay claim to the title “the worlds hardest working band”! They are back with us again this year so come and see for yourself what the excitement is all about - you won't be disappointed!
Radio Days
Between the 1930s and the 1950s the “wireless” as it was more commonly known became the main source of home entertainment, news and information. It played a major role during the Second World War in keeping our spirits up, giving news about the progress of the War and information to help the British people overcome the difficulties they were enduring. The BBC also aided the propaganda effort by beaming programmes to occupied countries and the heart of Nazi Germany itself.
This year, our talented entertainment team will recall those days in music, dance, comedy and song during our 4 hour “Radio Days” variety show. The cast for this year's show includes:
Viv the Spiv - Our slightly dodgy Compere with an eye for the ladies, a nice line in black market goods up his sleeve, and a quip a minute on his tongue!
The Swingtime Sweethearts – Long-time favourites at War and Peace, Annie and LeArna are back again for 2015 with more of the magical harmonies we have grown to love.
Adam Hoffman – An irrepressible bundle of fun, Adam will keep us all entertained with his Vegas style songs, his laugh a minute comedy routines and some astounding magic.
Luna Nightingale -The young lady with a powerful voice, Luna's songs will have you jumping for joy one minute and wiping a tear from your eye the next.
Scott Elvis – What can we say about this great entertainer except you will be left feeling that you have been listening to the “real” King of Rock and Roll!
Sincerely Yours - Mum and daughter Jeanette and Tiffany have a delightful way of presenting songs from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Not just another girl vocal duo – they have that “something extra”'.
Miss Kitten Von Mew – Kitten has become another firm favourite among War and Peace visitors. She returns this year with some songs, delivered with her trademark “cheeky touch”.
The Peekaboos – Two girls whose attitude is fun, fun, fun as they take a cheeky swipe at the world of vintage burlesque. Their speciality is an irreverent attempt at the Can Can but you never know what to expect from these lively ladies.
Gypsy John and Karen - Award winning dance teachers John and Karen have recruited some of the best dance teachers from around the UK to join them in a thrilling demonstration of various dance styles from the 20th Century.
So that you don't miss performances by your favourite artistes, approximate performance times for each entertainer will be posted by the stage each day.
A full schedule is in the show programme, which you can either purchase in advance for £3.50 or on the gate on the day for £5.00.
