Latest Update

It’s just a week and a bit to go to War and Peace so the office is now closed as we move to the Racecourse. As of Monday morning (13 July) we will have limited ability to answer emails and phones, but don’t worry you can make changes to bookings, add vehicle details, names to bookings etc or even book in when you arrive! So if you’re Public Camping, Classic Cars, Living History, Trade Stands or Military Vehicles and have left it to the last minute, the Booking In team will be ready to help you when you arrive.

Rex’s email address will not be monitored after Wednesday 15 July so please don’t expect a reply to your email!

Please no catering stands as we’ve sold out and no Model entries as the Airfix World Model Hall is now full.

The last packs were posted on Saturday 11 June so you will need to collect your packs on arrival from now.

If you’re exhibiting, trading or displaying, then you can arrive anytime from Friday 17 July. Public Camping can arrive from Monday 20 July.

Booking in opening times:

• Friday 17 July 10 am – 10pm

• Saturday 18 July – Tuesday 21 July 8 am – 10pm

• Wednesday 22 July - Friday 24 July 6am – 10pm

• Saturday 25 July 8am – 6pm

• Sunday 26 July 8am – 2pm

Volunteers are still needed for Schools’ Day guides, to lead a party around the site. There will be a briefing for all guides on Tuesday 21 July at 4pm. Assemble at the Press Office in the red Main Grandstand (note new venue) - just come along to find out more!

Show opening times are 9am – 6pm. The public car park opens at 7.30am and the ticket office opens at 8am each day of the show and there will be a coffee bar and toilets in the car park for anyone who arrives early!

Dogs are permitted as long as they are well behaved, kept on a lead and you clear up after them.

If you’ve booked either Jive Aces or John Miller tickets then you can arrive any time after 6pm, unless you’re also visiting for the day/longer. Tickets for these can also be bought at the Information Office at War and Peace.

If you’ve pre-booked your tickets, on arrival simply go to the Pre-Paid ticket booth to exchange your ticket for a day-entry wrist band.

Online ticket sales close at lunchtime on Thursday 16 July for postal tickets or on Tuesday 21 July for print at home tickets (make sure you’ve enough ink in your printer!) after which you will only be able to buy your tickets on arrival.

Mobility scooters and wheelchairs can be pre-booked in advance - please contact the teams on either 01304 36918401304 369184 (Deal Mobility) or 01303 26907801303 269078 (Hythe Mobility) stating that it is for War and Peace. Or alternatively book online at: www.dealmobility.co.uk/the-war-and-peace-revival-booking-form.

Our address is Folkestone Racecourse, near Hythe Kent CT21 4HX.  The Public car park is free and just a couple of minutes off J11 of the M20. If you can travel by public transport, here are your options.

The nearest train station is WESTENHANGER (station code: WHA), which is about 400 feet from our entrance! The high speed train will be stopping on the Saturday and Sunday of the show. For more details on trains see: http://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/

Travelling by bus?

The 10 service operates between Ashford and Folkestone and this service also provides the link between the stop in Stone Street and Hythe Red Lion Square.

Once in Red Lion Square it is possible to catch the 16 service on one of the Gold service buses, which provides a direct link into Canterbury

It is also possible to connect with the 101 and 102 Wave services from Red Lion Square. These buses operate directly through to Dover and would be ideal for history buffs who would like to visit the castle or they will go to New Romney in the opposite direction. Some services as shown on the timetable then become a 100 and the same bus carries on through to Hastings

The best ticket to buy would be a one day Explorer or a Family Explorer. These would offer unlimited travel for the day on all services and are available from the driver. These are £6.30 for an Explorer and £10.50 for a family. There is also a special offer on at the moment where children can travel for 10p with an adult at weekends and this is detailed in the link below.

Today's Travel News

If you’re coming to War and Peace this year, please be aware that Operation Stack is currently on so here are a few words of advice!  We are in daily contact with Kent Police and Kent Highways to ensure we have the latest news and information.

The A20 runs alongside the M20 and passes directly by the Racecourse so all exhibitors, campers and public can take the turning at Junction 8 and follow the signs for the A20, taking you past the turning to the lovely Leeds Castle. When you reach Ashford, follow the signs for A292 until you get to the roundabout over the motorway, then pick up signs for A20 Sellindge and you’re just a short while from War and Peace then!

There are also other routes including using the M2/A2 motorways.

Alternatively; don’t forget we have a mainline train station immediately next door to the Racecourse – it’s less than 400 feet away!  Westenhanger station is 8-minutes down the line from Ashford making it accessible from all parts of Kent, London and beyond. So why not let the train take the strain!

There is also plenty of room to camp onsite if you would like to join in the fun and forget about the traffic!  If you’d like to camp you can do all your paperwork on arrival; we’ll always find room for you!  And of course there is loads of free fabulous evening entertainment you can then come along to.

Keep tuned to any of our local radio stations for the latest updates on the traffic and travel: BBC Radio Kent, KMFM or Heart.

Tickets are undated so can be used any day of the show so make sure you check your map, have water with you and leave plenty of time!  War and Peace will carry on regardless!
