The Victory Marquee

Once again The War and Peace Revival entertainments team is proud to bring you a feast of frolics and fun, a mass of music and mirth, a cartload of comedy, a barrel of burlesque and a double dose of dance served up every day in the Victory Marquee with a bit of sauce from our cheeky compere, Viv The Spiv!

In addition to our regular programme, there will be some surprise appearances by special guests, including well known cast members from the popular television series 'Allo 'Allo! and on Saturday at 2pm, the famed Military Wives Choir from Shorncliffe.

Your genial (but slightly dodgy!) host Viv the Spiv introduces some of the stars of this year's entertainment line-up including the Swingtime Sweethearts, Adam Hoffman, Luna Nightingale, Madeline Brown, Sincerely Yours, Scott Elvis, the Peekaboos and others.

The Jive Aces have hundreds of thousands of fans world-wide as a result of their high energy, exciting stage performances and their numerous popular recordings. They lay claim to the title "the world's hardest working band" and few can argue with well over 300 performances each year. They are back with us again this year so come and see for yourself what the excitement is all about - you won't be disappointed!

"That's Show Business" ~ each afternoon The Victory Marquee presents a cocktail of song, dance, music, magic and mirth in tribute to those mostly anonymous heroes and heroines of the stage.

Our team of highly talented entertainers this year includes:

Viv the Spiv - Our Compere with a wink in his eye, a witty joke on the end of his tongue and a dodgy deal up his sleeve! Be entertained but don't fall for his cockney charm!

The Swingtime Sweethearts - Always firm favourites with visitors to War and Peace, Annie and LeArna return this year with more nostalgic tunes delivered in their unique harmonic style.

Miss Kitten Von Mew - Recalling the vintage days of vaudeville, Kitten will serve up a delightful cocktail of family-friendly burlesque and song.

Adam Hoffman - Multi-talented and multi-tasking, Adam will enthral you with his Vegas style vocal performances, a baffling array of magic tricks and his irrepressible comedy routines.

Luna Nightingale - Another War and Peace favourite, Luna's impeccable vocal delivery will tug at your heartstrings one minute and excite you the next.

Madeline Brown - The gal with a big personality and a voice to match, Maddie is known throughout the 1940s entertainment circuit for her show-stopping performances.

Scott Elvis - This very popular hard-working Presley impersonator will bring the "King" of Rock & Roll back to life before your very eyes.

Sincerely Yours - A novel family vocal duo, mother and daughter Jeanette and Tiffany made their War and Peace Revival debut last year. The audience response they received ensured them a place in this year's show.

The Peekaboos - From the CanCan to a novel routine featuring lots of balloons, these girls take a hilarious and cheeky swipe at the world of vintage burlesque. All done, of course, in the best possible taste!

Gypsy John and Karen - Award winning dance teachers John and Karen will thrill you with their exciting dance routines from the 1930s and 1940s.

Approximate performance times for each entertainer will be posted beside the stage each day.

Free evening entertainment for those staying onsite overnight includes:

Wednesday - 8pm to midnight ~ "Good Morning Vietnam"
Featuring - Flower Power, Soul, Motown, Folk, Blues, Protest songs, Britpop, the Liverpool Sound, Psychedelia and Rock & Roll. Tonight the Victory Marquee will resonate to all of the hits of this period with live music, a USO type show and two specialist Disc Jockeys.

With the help of Bear Records, publishers of the world’s most comprehensive Vietnam era music compilation "Next Stop Vietnam", the evening will feature rare radio announcements, period public broadcast announcements, and previously unpublished music.

Thursday – 8pm to midnight ~ Rock and Roll, Jive and Stroll
This is the night to rock your socks off to real old-time Rock and Roll! In association with the Folkestone and Deal Rock & Roll Club, we bring you live music from popular local band This Little Girl and the Dillicats. They rocked our Dance Marquee on Saturday night at last year's War and Peace Revival so we decided to bring them back and put them into our main entertainment venue for 2014!

To keep the dance floor busy all night long we also present two of Europe's hottest DJs, Doctor Boogie from Italy and Jeff's Two-Tone Boogie from the UK.

Friday 18th July 2014 7.30pm to 1.00am~ An evening with the Jive Aces ~ in the Victory Marquee.

One of the most eagerly awaited events at the War and Peace Revival is our special Friday night dance featuring the massively popular Jive Aces. Always a sell-out, the night guarantees excitement and fun. Ian, Alex, Vince, Ken, John and Peter, wearing their trademark yellow suits, are known all over the world for their exuberant performances.

We again feature popular burlesque beauty Kitten Von Mew in cabaret, together with two top DJs who are guaranteed to keep the dance floor full. As well as our resident DJ Gypsy John, we are pleased to welcome top European swing and jive DJ Doctor Boogie from Italy!

Saturday 19th July 2014 7.30pm to 1.00am ~ John Miller and his Orchestra ~ in the Victory Marquee.

Are you a fan of 'Allo 'Allo!? Want a special opportunity? New this year we’re delighted to be able to offer seats at a table hosted by one of the six original cast members! Dine in style with Herr Flick, Helga, Yvette, Mimi la Bonq, the Policeman or Gruber and enjoy a night to remember!
